Fairy of the Chalice
The story begins with Lady Nuwa (Liu Jie) subduing an evil scorpion spirit, Wu Gong Jing. She imprisons it within a chalice and instructs a young fairy, Fairy Bei (played by Taiwanese actress Zhang Ting) to guard it. But in her moment of carelessness, Wu Gong Jing manages to escapes. Lady Nuwa punishes Fairy Bei by bounding her to the chalice and sending it down to the mortal world. Fairy Bei has to grant three wishes to anyone who picks up the chalice, and also to serve 1000 masters before she can be reinstated as an immortal.
