GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES, a hit novel which has been animated in the past by Hayao Miyazaki (Studio Ghibli), is the first of NTV's new drama line-up. """"Drama Complex,"""" is a new concept in what for 24 years was the Tuesday Suspense Theater time slot. The new 2-hour show plans to feature a wide variety of drama, comedy and action. Matsushima enacted the role of Seita and Setsuko's aunt.
Matsushima's husband, Takashi Sorimachi (31), is currently working on a drama for the same time slot. SENGOKU JIEITAI will air next spring, and high ratings are expected for this adaptation of Harutoshi Fukui's hit SF novel as well.
